To be fair, that recipe is like… 10 years old? And she’s like 17 or 18, so she may have grown up with her grandmother making Kenji’s recipe. 😅

I think this is the real reason for oddly specific measurements that I’m seen in more and more recipes for baking (e.g., 302 g AP flour, 222 g whole wheat flour).
