  1. Ya forgot about the secret Nitrogen boost from one of Tucks power Dumpsies as a top dressing = insiders Tip !

  2. Tuck seems to be doing well, I saw the bossman quality checking last years harvest. He needs bunny ears when eating carrots. Great info as always from you and the boss man. Happy growing pal.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. James, you are so right about starting seeds two weeks later than you normally would, every year I struggle with the plants being too big, and the weather being too cold, and I always refer to my journal from the previous year and I keep scratching out the start date but realistically, I just should add two weeks to the last journal entry start the seeds and then the weather will be warm enough and I won’t have to worry. Thanks for the great videos and hey to Tuck”

  4. I started my peppers when the almanac said here on Long Island, I went on vacation and the house sitter either over watered or under watered, so I came back and my peppers, cauliflower, celery and others were dead… Glad to know I could still start my peppers today or tomorrow and catch up

  5. Hey James & community – I’m in Morris County and a novice gardener. When should I start the seeding process and if I’m late, where can I get reputable non gmo organic plants ? Thanks in advance !

  6. Thanks once again for all these great tips!! I love how you have broken down your tips in to chapters to make it so easy to go back and review them!!!

  7. You're in NJ? That's The Garden State. 🥰 I'm in Zone 7b, W. TN, and our weather is outrageous, which makes gardening a big challenge. I enjoy your videos, though!

  8. Glad to see you back, James, and Tuck too. We missed you over the winter. God bless you both with a great season, you take such good care of the Garden he gave you and the creatures in it!

  9. I'm also in jersey. I want to ask do you have that plant journal of when to plant your seeds somewhere we can check it out or buy?. I would love to see what you have all yours on.

  10. Must be nice to have all that acreage to grow your "Food Forest" 🤣
But for real though, I appreciate your vids and have been a subscriber for about a year now. Keep up the great work. 😃

  11. Help! Can you give us the wood cuts etc. To build our own beds? Also have s deer problem. Any suggestions? Hesrd many but havent heard success.

  12. As usual, you and Tuck have me ridiculously pumped for the coming year of harvesting some goodies! Love your vids, now let's see if I can stop myself from starting everything too early. My money is actually on me winning that battle this year!

  13. Hey James, starting my garden for the first time here in GA. Looking forward to using your string trellis method for my tomatoes and cucumbers. My question; In a raised bed, can you trellis the tomatoes in rows next to each other (1sqft per plant) or will the southern row block the northern row?

  14. Love Tuck. My little poodle Molly loves to hang with me when I’m gardening. ❤

  15. James what a treasure your lessons are, we are so grateful. We wish you good health, happiness, success & abundance for you & yours. Thank you Tuck for your enthusiasm which runs in the family!

  16. Hi James or anyone else who would care to answer. I have a few 5 gallon buckets that I grew tomatoes in last summer. What should I do with the soil and root balls? Pretty much the entire buckets are blocks of roots. Should I dump them out somewhere and break up the roots with a shovel and reuse or just go with fresh potting soil mix?
    Thanks

  17. James, thank for teaching me how to plant my pear tree with coco core and micoz
The tree farm dry rotted my pear tree. It was so sick and the dirt smelled rotten. It actually got its new growth last year.

  18. Been trying to reach out to your from I first started my food forest all of mine are in containers and I am wondering would you do a video on what got you started in food forest what was it that happened in your life to change you to growing your own food surely there must have been something maybe are a reaction to the toxic food in the supermarkets with herbicides and pesticides or maybe they overpriced products that are not too good it would be good to hear how you got into it and a little bit more about you and your life thanks I am in Scotland and trying to grow my own food so I can get my eyesight restored by a healthy proper nutrition

  19. Hey everybody, that's on here. This is really just in case there's someone that's watched the video earlier that happens to know what square foot gardening book is it that James uses?

  20. I moved somewhere with a nice little yard but it is so overgrown and a huge tree hanging over that I have a lot of shade. I was gonna focus on Perennial medicinal plants. I'm pruning the trees like crazy but we'll see… The building itself blocks the afternoon sun. The driveway has a good spot but it's got overgrown Holly bushes I've been pruning. I'm gonna plant stuff between and maybe remove them when I filled in next to them. Replace them possibly. When no one will notice lol. When there's a replacement anyways.
Can u do a video on what to do if u find yourself with a shade garden. Do u grow medicinals at all?

  21. Hello. Where can I buy grapes and other stuff for cold climate area. I am in Windsor Ontario Canada

  22. How do you deal with Ants stealing the seeds from your garden after you plant them in the garden beds

  23. I am grateful for the tips on weeds. I live in Southern Colorado and we have bindweeds. A gardeners and homeowners worst nightmare. The even grow through cracks and don't need water to grown. An older woman I met a few years ago said she grew up gardening with carpet under her beds. She said it was the only way to keep bindweed out of your beds. I tried it and it seems to work, but after a couple growing seasons, it breaks down and now I have to deal with that.
This year I'm putting up a new bed and came to Tuck to see what he sees is the best combo to use to fill the bed, and low and behold I found this tip with cardboard and mulch. I am going to try this under the area of the new bed. Thanks Tuck (& James).

  24. Many of our fruit trees in the South got hit by frost. The trees had a good two weeks of warm temperatures in February and those green leaves are now black and drying up. Do you go around and prune those tips and dead leaves, or is it best just to leave them and let the tree and Nature take care of them?
I took the dead "branched wood off." I know it warmed up in Jersey too, did you get that bloom and bust too?
God bless to you and Tuck.

  25. Hey james, what do you feel about cinder block raised beds? Had lots of extra ones. I plant marigolds all
Around the edges in the openings of the cinder blocks. The marigolds ring the raised bed. Also, Any advice on keeping raccoons , bears, squirrels? from digging up new transplants? It happens every year. Tried ringing plants with dried pepper flakes. Works for a while. It’s something about loose newly loosened dirt they love to dig up! And can’t use fish emulsion! They love digging those up! Also advice on keeping raspberries from squirrels or birds? Fake snakes, nets, fake owls? I live in the country. Lots of critters
