18 months until jewboy sliders is closing in fare ground
Hopefully they offer some non-beef options, just knowing they took over the former spot of a place with a lot of vegetarian options.
I love their burger restaurant but the sliders are way too expensive for what they are. I was disappointed.
Golden Castle is on the same street, on the Shangri-La patio and is WAY better.
I love Jewboy, but I feel like Fareground is an odd location for them. I go there for work lunches sometimes when I’m in office, and typically want something light and healthy – not something so delicious and rich that it will put me in a food coma for the rest of my day. I do hope it works out for them though!
The Fareground has changed some of it’s policies but I don’t see a restaurant doing well there in the long run. It now offers free parking after 6 pm and all day on the weekend which it didn’t when Contigo or Dai Due were there which may help and it does appear to have a bar that offers happy hour. However, the other vendors can’t sell alcohol which typically constitutes 20-25% of their sales. The landlord may have reduced the rent charged vendors but again, back in the beginning it was sky high. Business was good for lunch from what I understood but it died in the evening. And honestly, I can’t see someone making the effort to drive downtown to order from a window and retrieve your food.
So much great food over there, i love little wu. Hopefully Jewboy gets them some more foot traffic going through there, love the concept of a food hall in that area, because frankly there ain’t shit for me to eat over there, other than P Terry’s and JJ’s
I mean, I was called that as kids beat me up as a kid, so I can’t say I feel great about saying that as a name. I don’t think it’s a term that could be recuperated.
Mo has always wanted to open Jewboys in downtown and his original location was supposed to be downtown. Took awhile to convince him to do north or the suburbs he calls it. I think he just wants to test the location and see how it performs. It’s for sure a tough tough spot And i think henbit and TLV were the last of the original vendors there and they are also shuttering.
