I’ve thought about checking this place out. Is it worth it? Also can you pick and choose what type of volunteer work you do for them?

Huge fan of Karma! They have a smaller selection than larger grocery stores but it’s very curated with an emphasis on smaller, local producers (and some amount of non-local produce that’s organic.)
I volunteered for them for awhile but now I’m on their basic membership model. Highly recommend checking them out (they’re down a laneway, a little hidden) — everyone is super friendly.

They have an amazing bulk selection. Beyond the usual fruit and nuts they have bulk pasta, maple syrup, sauerkraut, chips, frozen fruit, nut butters. If you can support places like this.
