Great burger and it would be top for me amongst American chains. That said, I believe Toronto has an amazing burger scene, especially smash burgers and will continue to support local in the city. Aloette, ruby, cabanos to name a few.

The lines are going to set Toronto records lol

Shake Shack is great. The franchisees are well financed and hopefully will choose smart locations.
Sure, there may be 2 or 3 local spots with better burgers. However, not everyone lives walking distance to liberty village or the junction, or bloorcourt etc. Shake shack locations will surely be more conveniently located for 99% of the city’s population and taste great.

Am I the only one that finds Shake Shack patties inedibly salty? I love salty foods but I couldn’t stand that burger.

This is EVERYTHING! My hubby and I have been waiting for this for YEARS!

Ehh tough to imagine an international chain being high quality compared to some of the local places we can already buy from. Will be more novelty than anything since we haven’t been able to get it til now.

It would be better if burgers cooked medium were legal here

$20 burgers coming

Rudy’s is really good. Glad to support local still. Hope they don’t grow too much like Burger’s Priest and ruin themselves.
Having another brand enter our market just makes it less special to visit the US. I loved the tradition of hitting up In’nOut or Shake Shack. I barely go to Laduree now and that was a memorable place in NYC or LA visits.

The dollar you spend here leaves Canada immediately.
Definitely a shake down.

I’ve had SS burgers a few times over the last couple of years. While they are good, I have noticed their quality has been dropping lately. I think it’s probably a lot to do with becoming a huge franchise and not having the same focus on quality while still riding the hype. Think early burgers priest vs current.

Okay… unpopular opinion (I’m an American who stumbled on this subreddit while looking for something else), Shake Shack is incredibly mid. It’s overpriced and you can probably get better local burgers for how much you pay. I can’t speak for Toronto residents, but it’s okay food at best.
