Another huge week on the farm this week as we finally start to get some veg in the ground! It’s all hands on deck as slowly but surely the farm becomes a full time job, just keeping up with running the homestead keeps us busy for most of the day!

Hello from Iowa (USA) enjoy watching. My dad was a great gardener and a chicken lover miss him terribly this time of year thanks for the memories.
Hello lovely Newbys.
Question: When will you start the other house, make it into a family home or a continue of what you're living in, and link together, so you have the space for a couple bedroom's. And……should i ask ?????( drum rolling)ru thinking of another addition 😂.
P.s love all the planting, now i want 2 do it!!!
Saludos desde Chiapas, México. Hey John both you and Tara are natural born teachers. No should be the word of last resort for various reasons. Lillies grow back! Saudações de Chiapas à família Newby e à família de João com muito amor e muitas bênçãos.
Whenever I see Crusoe and Sawyer,I wonder what your parents think.I would love to see picture's of you two to see how similar in looks you are.
I love love this episode very much, John’s opening was so special, the farm is looking lovely and so pretty with the flowers and that wisteria, wow!!! I can understand how grateful he feels but it’s all down to your amazing hard work and patience….you both work so hard and deserve it all ….the boys are adorable and so lucky to have such awesome parents…I don’t know how you do it all…my question(s) would be, why Portugal? And would you do anything differently if you started again……and would you ever consider doing B&B there…sorry that’s three questions 🤣🤣
Hi julle. Ons hou julle program elke week dop en geniet dit baie. Julle moet geel mielies en sonneblomme plant dan het die hoenders ook kos. Moenie dat John die onkruit wat hy uittrek op die komposhoop gooi nie. Lekker boer. Ina van Suid Afrika.
Another question: Any idea what happened to the previous owners?
I can totally identify with the joy John felt on a beautiful spring morning in Portugal. It’s magical! Then I smiled because I do exactly the same thing transplanting wayward clumps of grass into my scruffy old lawn in northern England!
Also, in the way of advice if you all are going to grow just enough vegetables for your family, smaller to medium sized garden generally is easier to maintain and keep up with concerning produce out put. It can get very overwhelming if you go too big. You’ll have more than you can keep up with. It’s nice to share the extra but we find here in The States, it’s hard to get people to come and collect the extra. 😉
Desde Argentina, que sucede con la Tiny House? terminaron las reformas, cuando estará lista?
A wagon would be so helpful in carrying all the plants you want to plant and when you harvest 😊
Make sure the paths in your veg garden are wide enough to get your wheelbarrow (or any machinery/vehicle) down them and each bed should only be wide enough to be able to lean over from either side (usually about 4 ft). As you said, you don't want to walk on the beds and compact the soil. Enjoy!
👌❤️🙏
What made you choose Portugal to buy a property 🇬🇧
Decapitated a Lily 😂😂😂.
I absolutely LOVE your vlogs. They remind me so much of my own childhood. We lived in Zurich, but spent all of our weekends and holidays up in the mountains, running around after my Mum while she worked in her garden. Your boys are very lucky!
My question is whether you always knew that you wanted to settle down im Northern Portugal or whether the property was a bit of a spontaneous find on your Portugal road trip.
Lots of love from Switzerland, Nuria
Do something nice for someone else, that will make your day not only better but it will make Your world better.
You have done so much progress with the farm ❤
I can not wait to see how the tiny house will evolve.
Will you get any pets such as cats and dogs?
What is the next country you are planning to visit.
How to find properties like yours in Portugal.
What are the things you miss from UK in Portugal?
Hi Newbys, Is wonderful to see everything grow so fast, also seeing Crusoe helping Dad and Mom. You inspire me to go out and enjoy my garden today. I love gardening so this is my favorite time of year. I hope Tara parent arrived well. I’m sure they are enjoying their grandchildren. My question, can we know a little more about John family? What made both of you go in the travel industry? Is there a place that you can’t wait to go back to? Yes are you planning on trying for a girl? I can’t wait to Wednesday video, I’m sure it will be great! Stay well.
Great start! Crusoe is very handy with the watering can. Can hardly wait for the melons! 😊
Hello,
Have you prepared for a future possibility that one of you, or both, may not be able to continue with their current level of activity. Aka; a Stroke, or as myself contracting Myasthenia Gravis and 2 other autoimmune disorders in my late 50's. My husband and I, 50yrs married, had not.
Our turning point came upon us as we saw "all" our future plans of retirement begin to meld into reality. After 36yrs of very hard work such as yourselves. We are managing, pretty well, considering all the road blocks placed in our paths toward our dream of peaceful, comfortable retirement since. Planning ahead, would have made a significant positive assist to our current journey.
A special thank-you to you both for giving me a window to watch you move through life as my husband and I had and continue to do; Thinking Big, Being Brave, Exploring!, The Atkinson's
Sawyer has Crusoe smile he seems to be a happy baby like Crusoe. Congratulations you both are excellent in parenting. I wish on my time to grow my kids I will be demonstrating the same kind of wisdom that you have. Maybe I will reduce the amount of trouble or difficulties to my kids . It’s too late for me, but I’m so happy for you and your family because now I feel to be part of yours. I enjoyed every part of your journey. Love to see your babies growing in so much love. Blessings ( I plant from seeds cucumber and only to develop an are growing they still little but I found today 3 tiny cucumbers )
Q&A – Do you plan to home school your boys, send them to a local school or perhaps an online alternative?
