Has anybody figured out a clever way to use this magnet tamper mount on the BBE? I have a Normcore tamper so I don’t need the stock one…. Thinking a WDT tool could be mounted there or something…

I use that stock tamper after I WDT, to give the grinds an *extremely* light tamp just before removing the funnel from the portafilter. I’m talking just the weight of the tamper alone, no pressure.
This makes it so grinds don’t spill out after removing the funnel, because WDT tends to “fluff them up.” Then I use my distributor and do a final tamp afterwards.
But yeah I’m totally with you, I’ve asked myself why nobody makes aftermarket accessories that fit there. How about just an upgraded calibrated spring tamper?!

i do suction GoPro to the bottom of the magnetic tamper and suction mirror for a shot mirror
I’m working on a BDB magnetic tamper handle for my Normcore v4. If I get off my butt I should have a working version today, as I miss-measured the collar/leveler the first time and need to re-print it to get it to fit.

this is what I do. Just added a magnet to my wdt

I actually made a wdt tool with artpresso. Not sure why we never released it.
tamping is having a flat surface that fit the basket. I don’t understand wtf a 3rd party tamper would do to your puck?
