I love their fried chicken and the butter beans are great too but holy hell that wait. Pro tip: if you go with friends and order at the self service counter, put all your orders in together on one check. Otherwise, you risk having orders come out as much as an hour apart.

I got their fried chicken yesterday, not very good. The batter is like a tempura batter, immediately got soggy. I will not be returning. 4/10.

I went a few weeks ago around 5 and there was no wait. We sat right away. Their gumbo was delicious but their chicken was so oily and the batter was soggy. I would come back for the gumbo. It’s probably the best gumbo I’ve ever had.

Phenomenal fried chicken.
Went around 4p on a Saturday the weekend before last. We got seated right away, but the wait for our food was about 35 minutes.
Worth it though.

Still the best-fried chicken I ever had since I left NOLA and so happy I got to eat here too in Venice.
Definitely eat there in person. Out of the 3 times I went, I ordered takeout once (took me 15 minutes to drive home and eat). It was good, but as Nickbuch mentioned, batter game weakened.
So yeah, this is a definite sit-down experience if you want some amazing fried chicken. And get the whole fried chicken pieces. The tenders are mid at best. The meat is mad juicy and love the super crunch on the batter.

Hesitant to try this location since I’ve only tried their New Orleans location, which I loved. The butter beans were amazing, as was the Chicken. I just don’t think the L.A. location could possibly match it.
