For me Toronto Life is in the same league as Presidents Choice products – I do not trust them.

I quite like Vilda’s. While I’ve never had the sandwich this article recommended (the Caesaroni) I can attest to the quality of their stuff. It’s pretty expensive in terms of what you pay for what you get, but I feel like the flavours are on-point (perfect amount of acidity). They tend to rotate the menu frequently which is cool. I’d recommend the Brekky Bun, as well as whatever soup they have.

I’ve eaten at naija jollof a number of times and their rice is some of the best rice I’ve ever had. The article isn’t wrong when they say it’s a meal on its own.

Sue Fung is really good, its the only decent dimsum in downtown I’ve found so far and I eat it when I’m homesick (grew up in HK)

Da Endz is fantastic. Their rasta pasta and oxtail has been my favourite discovery so far this year. Would highly recommend trying it if you’re in North York
