Whenever we go to Costco, we always get a roasted chicken for $4.99. We used the breast for a meal (chicken burrito in this case) and I usually just eat the thighs and legs. I then make bone broth from the carcass. I added 1 tbsp garlic powder, 2 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp pepper, 2 tbsp onion powder, 2 bay leaves, 6 cups of water, a splash of cider vinegar and 1 tsp sage. I cook it for 24 hours in the slow cooker on low. I then remove all the meat/bones (separated later for something) and the liquid gold goes into the jar. I will usually make soup, stew or a ton of gravy out of it. I think I am going to make chicken pot pie with it this time…. Or maybe chicken and dumplings.
We literally get three meals out of this one chicken for $5!

Just as a general FYI, “bone broth” is just stock. Still, this looks amazing. Love the mouthfeel you get in a soup that has actual collagen in it!!

I’ll consume bone broth, but it’s not my absolute favorite. That said, nice work! I’d love to try some, at least to give it a shot. Many homemade items are better than mass-produced, available-at-the-supermarket ones. Hope you enjoy it as much as you’re looking forward to it!
