    I love Saffys! Their summer menu is the best. The ahi crudo is fireee

    Gem salad, shishito peppers, shawarma, skewers! Wife had a wine, I had a soda. It was like $145 roughly without tip. Definitely a special occasion dinner.

    Gem salad: similar to Bestia’s ceees salad. Really flavorful with great buttermilk ranch. Crispy lettuce, ample coverage, all the good things.

    Shishitos: served with a tahini I think? Pretty standard but super enjoyable nonetheless

    Shawarma: served with homemade laffa tahini, etc. Such a unique flavor. Really tender meat and deep Smokey sweetness. Great portion too

    Skewers: chicken and lamb with sweet chili. Served with Amba and tahini. Chicken was the star but the lamb was beautiful. Chicken had a great crunchy skin with super moist meat. Lamb was tender and sweet.

    Their cafe has incredible challah bread.

    Did you walk in or make a reservation. Sounds like they prefer walk ins so I’m wondering what the experience is.

    Watching luxury cars cutting each other off to jump the valet line has become must see viewing in the neighborhood. I’m glad the food is worth it.

    Yum, Bestia’s herb caesar salad is one of my favorites in town 🥗

  8. Saffys is awesome. It’s of course from the people who brought you bavel. I was expecting a similar menu but it’s quite different. We had the clams which were great, shawarma which was amazing and a few sides all fantastic. Service was good. I love shawarma and it was tender, juicy, flavorful. It’s cooked using charcoal including the rotisserie for the shawarma which is super unique and adds flavor. The in house made flat bread was excellent too. Having my car valet at the front like a boss was the best part of the night.

    sorry but shawarma as an upscale concept is laughable, not because it doesn’t deserve to be but because it simply cannot be elevated to such an extent to justify the premium. this place strikes me as approachable middle eastern food for basic beckys and jakes.

    How does Saffy’s compare to Bavel? Looking for an answer from 3 perspectives:

    * Business Dinner
    * Date Dinner
    * Purely food quality/taste

    Ya, they’re good. Nice brandy cocktails as well
