Forgot to take a pic of the lemongrass and Limequat, pre-dessert, which was amazing. Also, the cookie/dessert box they bring at the very end, which we had to pack to go we were too stuffed

That tiny piece of pie on your first slide is taking me out (I’m sure this tasted incredible though)

Can’t wait to go, they let you keep the menu right?
my friend who went recently said the Wagyu/wine pairing wasn’t worth it so I’ll probably just grab a cocktail like you did

I’m still dreaming about the risotto and wine pairing ✨✨✨

Is that a paper plane cocktail as well? My husband loves the alo paper planes

Had the exact same thing last Friday. That egg foam lobster course was bonkers good.

I want to experience something like this but I also don’t have the pallette for the food. Sounds like you had a great time though!

$700 is insane to pay for food. How can someone justify spending that much on food?

Out of the tasting menus in Toronto this is my favorite. That being said its gotten worst over the years. Gone every year since 2018 and the second time I went in 2018 was the best.

Unpopular opinion but the one time I went to Alo, I found it great but not memorable. Ask me about a dish I ate and I couldn’t tell you. I do remember everything was cooked to perfection and the flavours were fantastic but they were flavours I’ve tasted before. Nothing unique. Perfectly seared scallop? Check. Medium rare beef? Check. Buttery poached fish? Check.
I highly recommend Frilu for a wonderful tasting menu that won’t break the bank (or break it less). Now their flavours are ones I will remember for a long time.

This meal looks incredible and thank you for sharing. I hope you and your wife enjoyed it!
We celebrated my wife’s birthday there in 2017 and it was one of our most memorable meals in the city. Definitely a cherished memory we have and I wish that for you and your wife too.

225per person plus tax right? That’s excluding drinks?

That’s lovely, reminds of the time my partner took me to George, wish I had taken pics of all my courses.

The higher the price the smaller the food gets
