I always order a No. 100. Love that place. You’re the only person besides me who I’ve ever seen grab the mustard packets. My only complaint…I miss the pre-COVID real soup spoons.

Just from the thumbnail, you can always tell it’s Santouka. Love it.

Same. Spicy Miso Combo D is my go-to. So good.

Is that Natto on the side? I tried it in Japan and it was shockingly awful lol. Not one to hate on foods, but that dish stands out and I’m having flashbacks thinking about it.

YESSS to the natto gohan! I buy the boxes of natto regularly but there’s something about a restaurant preparation of it.

A little controversial but I think Santouka is just a little overrated. No doubt that its a tasty bowl of ramen but I think it isn’t even close to being the best bowl of ramen.

Do you agree with their prices?

Love the ramen, too bad their eggs are hard as rocks

  9. I was visiting Boston last weekend and found a stand alone Santouka not attached to a Mitsuwa. The Shio Ramen was the same though. God I miss that taste.

I was really bummed to find out the Mitsuwa that opened in Northridge didn’t have a food court. Santouka is one of my top ramen spots, but Tsujita Annex will always be my #1

that small pork rice bowl is perfection- include me on team spicy miso ramen

    100%.

This is the best Ramen in Los Angeles. I’ve tried many and none are anywhere near as good.

Yup! Unfortunately, the trend in LA is to think tonkotsu is the way ramen should taste, all because of the popularity of Daikokuya. But there’s so much more to ramen than tonkotsu style. IMO, shio ramen is the most difficult type of ramen to pull off well, but when it’s done right it’s the best. Santouka is one of the few places that has legit shio ramen.

Santouka is my favorite place to eat in Mitsuwa’s food court. I love the shoyu ramen combination with sake and ikura don, #62. It’s remained fairly affordable and a convenient option after shopping

Natto and mustard is all I need!! The egg looks good too, what’s the name / number ? of this soon to be my meal

This is C combo with shoyu broth. My first time trying it, I normally get shio.

Yuuuup! My go to is the tonkotsu and if I’m at the one In Costa Mesa, I get beef tongue from gyutan on the side.
