Ling’s Kitchen is a chef’s table experience by Chef Ling of Lin’s Asian Bar. Reservations release on the 1st of the month at 12pm. Price for this dining experience is $150 per person (alcoholic beverages not included).

There were 16 guests yesterday. 10 courses. See picture for menu. I’d say the dishes were curated beautifully. I love the presentations and the timing of the course. Friendly vibe and very comfortable. Few courses were lacking imo. Steamed egg with truffle and foie gras- I could not taste the truffle. Hainanese chicken rice- the chicken was a bit dry and the ginger chili sauce could be stronger. I never tried Qi but my friend said it wasn’t any way better than Qi. I left full at least. My favorite was the taro cake and the stuffed shrimp in king oyster mushroom and chicken in morel mushroom. I love that Chef Ling included duck tongue in one of the courses. It can be intimidating for those who haven’t tried but it is actually a common Chinese dish.

It’s definitely a treat and I say definitely a good try.

Wow I did not realize this was an actual restaurant! I thought it was a catering commissary kitchen of some kind

went last week. i thought it was pretty awesome. we had a different dish instead of the chicken rice at that course, but the steamed egg was also probably my least favorite item.

I’m interested in trying this place.

I never tried Lin/Qi/Wu Chow bc I have a thing against fancy Chinese restaurants that serve the same old boring Chinese-American. I support them making that money though. Just not from me.

This menu looks more innovative. Although a steamed egg is so basic lol.

I hate to say it but I was pretty dissatisfied with my experience there. The idea is great and clearly Chef Lin is pleased as punch with the concept.

But most of the dishes were off in some way (like the dry chicken, dry duck, etc). And every single dish was room temp, not warm. It really lacked finesse. I wouldn’t go back unless I saw they really turned it around.
