I was in Chicago recently. It had been years since I’d been into a Blue Bottle and was excited enough to make a special trip to get a cortado. It was really disappointing. The espresso itself tasted excellent but the barista was sporting grocery store starbucks level skills. It looks like you got a solid barista though.
Chicago has such a stellar coffee scene, even that one disappointing trip couldn’t mare the other shops I tried.

I’m just your casual coffee ☕ enjoyer. I don’t know much about different coffee types , styles and skills but with what you have describe about the Chicago coffee scene I feel motivated to try different coffee spots now thanks.

It’s a damn shame they’re owned by Nestle.
