Is it really street food if you sit down with silverware?

Yes, and you call them street eats despite the fact they are obviously from a restaurant?

If you’ve never been to Cancale: this town is famous for their oysters (the exit sign on the highway just has a massive picture of an oyster). There is like a street market with over a dozen maybe up to 20-30 stalls selling all varieties and sizes of oysters. They will set you up with an oyster tray, silverware, a half-lemon, and you simply sit and throw your shells in the bay. Many will have like a little tented seating area where you can enjoy some wine and eat protected by the summer sun.
This is not only street food but like the best version of street food in the world. It’s a surreal experience when (I’ll speak for me personally) the only previous oyster experience is an outlandishly expensive tray at a restaurant. I’ve traveled quite a lot by normal standards and Cancale was a top 10 experience.
TL,DR I vote yes on this being street food. I recommend anyone go here as a short drive away from the Normandy beaches.
