NGL, I’m confused by the hype for this place. Food better be on point because it looks like an airport lounge in there 😬
What was the verdict, OP?

Some of the best food in this city comes out of the humblest kitchens.
I’m not saying Don Alfonso isn’t great, but there’s not a direct correlation between money spent and quality.

This looks like the future of 2002. Where’s the iPod Bose dock and telepopmusik playing in the background?

I’ve been there recently for an LCBO winemaker event. Tasting menu and all. Portions were smaller than expected from a tasting menu and the plates they came in didn’t make the dish or experience any better. It just felt tacky.
Staff was on point, tho, and so was the wine, but the ambiance was bland. It’s trying really hard but… no. Not worth the hype.
I’d rather go to Alobar Salon (private dining room) for that money where the food is mind-blowing. Plus, the aesthetics, service, and ambiance at Alobar Salon were far better than DA.

Thanks for posting OP. This looks great. I dunno what’s with the reaction you’re getting but it’s fine, people here are just being weird.
