After reading the late great Jonathan Gold’s review of Kobee Factory located in Van Nuys, I’ve been meaning to go there for a good while now. I finally managed to pay them a visit today, and boy was the food good. The msaren (which I believe is stuffed lamb intestines, $18.99) was great despite the way it looks, and I would definitely recommend having it. I also had a fried kobee ball (I believe it was $3.50 or so) that blew my mind. The intestines alone would’ve been enough, but I wanted to try the kobee as well since it came highly recommended. The restaurant is located at Oxnard and Hazeltine, and if you blink, you will miss it. The staff was very friendly and I got the food in like 10 minutes. If you are interested in trying Syrian food or you already know you love it, do yourself a favor and check them out!

It’s a good spot. I used to go there often. The mujadara is the star of the show (lentils) according to the late Gold and I agree. Personally, for Syrian-Armenian cuisine, my favorite remains Kebab Halebi.
