Does anyone have any thoughts about the new dumpling place adjacent to Banh Mi Ba Le, near Dundas and Spadina?
I walked past this dumpling place yesterday, I believe it’s now called TJ Dumplings(?). I think the place was called [Chinese Traditional Buns](https://maps.app.goo.gl/sdA24wg62jgEJQ6U6?g_st=ic) before the new name.

I’m assuming TJ is short for Tianjin, which is the port city very close to Beijing famous for a type of dumpling called [goubuli](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goubuli)

I’ve tried their jian bing and it wasn’t as flavourful as Tianjin Auntie’s Steamed Bun down the road. Haven’t tried their dumplings and baos.

I went there like 10 times over the years. Objectively the buns are kind of mediocre but it have this simple and homemade vibe that I keep going back. It’s more for the atmosphere rather than the food. I think Yonghe east of Dundas has better buns in general, but in my opinion currently best bun in Toronto is by “authentic Chinese dumplings” in Markham.
