Looks great. Weirdly, I’m not a big beef rib fan, but I’m probably in the minority (too close in taste and texture to pot roast). Their sleeper is the cerveza beef fajita, it’s incredible.

I have been meaning to try this place for YEARS. Is it worth a special trip from Northeast Austin? I’m guessing yes.

Valentina’s is stunning…and if anything under-rated. It’s just unfortunate that it’s so far south (for us north folks) and such a hassle.

Valentina’s gave me food poisoning (I think). I need to try it again

  5. Don’t tell that guy yesterday how much it was

Can you get extra bbq sauce for that big boy?

The food at Valentinas is really good. The service is probably the worst from any bbq spot in town. It’ll take an hour to get your food AFTER you order.

I love Valentina’s. Nothing better to eat barbeque with than one of those homemade tortillas

I used to love their BBQ sandwiches but the last 5 times I got some not only were the buns smashed, they were acting as sponges for all the grease. I live close to their original Brodie location and started going there long before the lines started forming. They were great and producing a high quality product. Sadly when they moved to Menchaca I noticed quality go down a notch. I never have had enough funds to get a full brisket or ribs. My assessment only applies to the sandwiches.

Their brisket, beef ribs, and pork ribs are in the conversation for best in TX. Tortillas are great, too. All of their sides, however, are pure trash. Their tacos? Soupy, goopy, wet messes. Now that I think of it, they’re pretty bad at everything other than the stuff they absolutely ace.

I live about 2 minutes from there and have only been about 4 times. Food is excellent but the price and long wait have kept me away.

Definitely try LeRoy and Lewis’s Bacon Rib on the weekends. They are in Cosmic Coffee and Beer on SoCo
