  1. TL;DR:

    * Gusto 501’s Mafalde Ai Funghi, 501 King St. E. – “It’s my favourite extruded pasta shape, and has a velvety truffle sauce tossed with mushrooms”

    * Parallel’s Truffle Hummus, 217 Geary Ave. – “..wonderful sesame flavour to the hummus. The toppings are zingy and bountiful. Add in a few pitas, and it’s a meal in itself.”

    * Giulietta’s Tartare di Manzo, 972 College St – “perfectly balanced plate of raw beef with sharp pecorino, creamy egg yolk and truffle”

    * Byblos’ Truffle Pide, 11 Duncan St – “love the cheesy gooey filling, with a prominent truffle flavour”

    * LOUIX LOUIS’s Whole Organic Truffle Chicken, 325 Bay St – “decadent, over-the-top chicken dish amped up with truffle flavour”

Going to try the Truffle Tasting menu on Wednesday at Lapinou. Never been but curious and figured will give it a go. Anyone else been yet?

  3. Best truffle dish I have ever had was white truffle risotto at Boulud a few years ago. It was a special and not on the menu card, though. No idea if they do it regularly. I was away from Toronto from 2019 until recently so this was sometime shortly before that.

I am not a huge risotto fan, either, and it just blew me away both as a truffle dish and as a risotto.
