This has been in my fridge a full 24 hours, but I highly recommend the banh mi pizza at pinthouse. Pickles on pizza sounds weird but it’s delicious.

Will have to try this one next. Usually go with the shroomin goat.

  2. Gotten it a few times and I concur. If you like banh mi and you like pizza, chances are you’re gonna like it.

My favourite “sounds weird but is good” currently is the papa johns hamburger pizza lol. (The limited time special usually around summer)

  4. Pint House puts out great food consistently. They are on my list of places for visitors. Every time they gush about how well it would do in their city.

Not long after they opened I described their pizza as “far better than it needed to be.” With beer that good and a decent atmosphere, they could’ve cranked out Pizza Hut level crap and done OK.
Instead, even their “conventional” pizzas are excellent and the “off the map category” where the tasty “bánh mì pizza” falls is always worth checking out. Far better pizza than it needs to be and I am delighted they chose that compass heading.

The honey pear is good enough I’d have a kid just to sell into slavery for one.

Their current ‘Off the Map Pie’ the Burgler is pretty weird but crazy good! I seriously wish they always had it on the menu.

This is a good pizza. I’ve never really liked Bahn mi because of the strange, low quality meats, but this pizza is excellent.

It’s one of me favorites there, too, but I don’t remember pickles on it.

They also put the pickled carrots and daikon on their nachos, very tasty.

I haven’t gotten this pizza, but I did want to comment on pickles on pizza. It does sound gross. HOWEVER, I have ordered a cheeseburger pizza before which comes with everything you’d picture on a cheeseburger with the lettuce and tomato added after the bake, and it’s fucking fantastic. It even had waffle fries. Anyway, surprise hit was the balance the pickle brought through all of that richness.

Visiting Austin again next month, will definitely try this. I eyeballed it last time I was there, but went with the Ooh La La.

  13. This is one of my favorite food items in all of Austin, not even just in the pizza category, but everything. A top 5 austin dish for me, for sure

Pinthouse is my favorite pizza in all of Austin.

  16. I tried the Hoe Down yesterday for the first time & it’s so freakin good! Who would have thought cauliflower on pizza would be so delicious?!
