  1. TL;DR:

    * Richmond Station (Downtown)

    * DaiLo (Little Italy)

    * Grey Gardens (Kensington Market)

    * Côte de Boeuf (Trinity-Bellwoods)

    * Mamakas Taverna (Ossington)

    My favourite way to make people in Toronto argue is to ask them for their definition of “downtown”.

  3. “eat like a local?” so order uber eats from the same place 3x a week?

  4. Locals dont make enough to dine at these places

    Those are birthday restaurants. The real way to eat like a local is not to eat at the restaurants/prepared food at St Lawrence Market. It’s a MARKET for chissake. First you gotta grab a coffee from the coffee lady across from Paddingtons Pump on the main floor. Then we go downstairs to Bricksteet and buy bagels. We then go to one of the cheese mongers and get cream cheese. Then we get either get discount lox from a fish monger or spicy sausage for $2, depending on what we feel like. Recommend bringing your own cutlery but if you forget you can “borrow” some from some of the vendors. From there choose your own accoutrements: pickles, olives, fruit salad. Don’t forget to pick up a pastry or two for dessert. Then Find a table and cut your bagels for a picnic. Don’t forget to buy your ingredients for dinner. This is how real locals do it.
