Steep the 1 or 2 bags of black tea in half a cup of boiling water, discard the teabags and blend all the ingredients together in a blender (the cup of cashew milk was an estimate, just use enough to fill to the pint line) after 24 hours process twice on sorbet! It has a pleasant flavor like milk tea, with a touch of maple. Crush up some hard cookies like shortbread/biscuits into it and its sooo good
tip: when I first got my creami, everything kept turning out really icy and soupy, even though I froze for the whole 24 hours. I was convinced either my machine was broken or everyone else was lying about it lol – then we moved to a new rental with a different freezer that gets colder, the pints freeze way more solid, and they get SUPER creamy. So if you have that problem, try setting your freezer lower if you can, it might seem counterintuitive but if the pint isnt solid enough, the blade can’t bust through the ice crystals and just slides around them. Ninja recommends a freezer temperature between 9 and -7 degrees fahrenheit.

Is the consensus on this sub that this machine is generally worth it? I’d love to be able to eat a pint of homemade protein ice cream every night, but I’ve been on the fence because of cost and because it looks like the machine has a fairly large footprint and is too tall to fit into a standard cabinet.
Thoughts?

I just bought one today as a birthday present to myself. Bed Bath and Beyond has them on sale for $179 and they have a 20% coupon to bring the cost even lower. Saved me over $80. I’m so excited!

Pro-tip: mix in ~25g propylene glycol per pint before freezing to prevent your ice cream from freezing solid if you don’t finish it in one go. Take it out of the freezer and let it sit for just a couple minutes and it’s good to enjoy without re-spinning!

Is there a decent substitute here for xanthan gum? I don’t have any, and don’t want to buy it.
