  1. Yep yep, my favorite BBQ place! Brisket is on par with the other top places, but the thing that really sets them apart are the sides. The jalapeno slaw is so good to make those little sandwiches with the bread they give you, the grits are fucking incredible, the free beans are awesome, the gouda Mac is the best Mac and cheese I’ve had at any BBQ spot, the Mexican chocolate rice pudding is so damn good, and then last week when I went they has a lamb taco as a special and it was maybe the best thing I’ve ever eaten from there. This might be the only BBQ place I’ve been to where literally everything on the menu is among the best I’ve had of that dish. Just incredible

Looks delicious and the menu makes me want to order one of everything.

  3. Very cool!

As an aside, it’s a little weird to see turkey as the second most expensive meat, second only to brisket lol

Missed out on the peach tea pork belly burnt ends

Nice plate. Adding this place to the list next time I am down that way.

What time did you go? Is it still a long line at lunch?

On top of incredible meats (esp that peach tea pork belly), Interstellar scalloped potatoes are 🔥🔥🔥

If I could travel back in time, one of the things I would bring with me is a menu from a BBQ place so I could show people the prices and watch their heads explode.

I don’t see the pork belly on your plate. Gotta get that stuff. It’s amazing and no one else has something like that.

I’ve had the meats but I didn’t invest in the sides. I have an extremely high bias against anything other than the potato salad at Micklethwait. How do those grits and CS hold up against them?

Give me back my lengua sandwich, you monsters!!!!

Does anyone know if they tend to sell out quick? Coming into town next month and looking to hit here on a Wednesday around 1pm.

The only thing I’ve had by them is the pork ribs one time. They were a little tough. I like a little pull on the bone, but this was more than that. I’m thinking they were pulled a bit early. Flavor was on point and the bark was there. I got the ribs a week later to test, and they were back to a much higher than average rib.

Damn that looks delicious! 🤤 How’s the coleslaw? I’m a little particular about coleslaw

  15. Lakedrip

Looks good. How’s it compare to Franklins? Just had that and Terry Blacks

I think it’s the best in Austin overall. Next try Burnt Bean in Seguine TX.

I go there for the peach glazed pork belly, that’s what sets it apart for me. The rest is good too, except the sausages are not my taste there for some reason.

  18. FearTheGrackle

It’s damn good, but seeing that counter also makes me miss Noble and the smoked duck pastrami

It’s be super cool if we had a wiki of restaurants that are popular in this subreddit
