I am a year and some months into this beautiful city of Los Ángeles and I have become addicted to Porto’s pastries. I also love all their empanadas and stuffed seafood potato balls. As a Brand Rep I take their signature cakes to my visits and they never fail to fill the staff with joy. This is my pastry order and I always make sure to add an iced Dulce de Leche Latte to go!

I’ve not had the opportunity to eat in their restaurant but I don’t know if I am missing out?

What’s your to go order?

Their sandwiches are decent imo but if I were to eat a meal there I would go for the chicken caesar salad (IIRC its $10) and its very filling. Try to get the dressing on the side since they drench it if you get it tossed. My favorite item is the chicken croquette!

Coconut strudel is my favorite. I split it in half like a biscuit with morning coffee.

Damn. Now I gotta go get some tomorrow morning.

I’m Cuban American and places like this are a dime a dozen back in Miami, so I order the same things that are very typically ordered back home:

Guava pastry (or guava and cheese), cheese pastry, meat pastry, ham croquettes (or chicken but that’s less popular), potato balls

We moved from LA to the barren Midwest. Our freezer is filled with Porto’s potato balls and other delicacies. Have to say, their at home stuff is just like getting it there.

I was unimpressed by the churro croissant. It was very dry.

Honestly worst croissant ever the chocolate on it is disgusting and it has no flakey texture.

Porto’s donated to trump. I won’t be eating fascist food sorry. Besides if you want real Cuban pastries go to cafe tropical in silver lake. It’s been there for decades.

Best croissant I’ve ever had in my life and I am not a person who digs croissants I ate probably 3000 calories worth of food cause I tried almost everything on the menu PRIOR TO knotts boysenberry fest

I Just heard this loud popping sound. Turns out it was my ass growing another dent to accommodate more Porto’s goodness

The churro croissant is pretty great. I’ve been going for the blueberry croissant lately. It has blueberries with like a lemon glaze on top and blueberry custard. They used to have a pear custard thing that was so good. They got rid of it after Covid. 🙁

  11. Just tried the churro croissant yesterday, honestly I thought it was totally underwhelming. It looks better than it tastes. Overall super bland.

I get a coffee cake on Monday and have a fat slice each day through Saturday. It’s my favorite $10 I ever spend

Their candied bacon turkey sandwich is also fire.

As a Cuban, this is the most over hyped/basic Cuban food imaginable. 3/5 have yet to find a really solid Cuban spot out in La

Do not sleep on the chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and low priced roll cakes. This place is a public service masquerading as a business.

  19. I want to go to Porto’s now. I only had their cakes & breads

Porto’s is known as Last Stop LA for us visiting NorCal folks.

A silver lining of the early pandemic era was how organized Porto’s was so you could order deliciousness and get it in the parking lot without having to stand in line. I wish they’d had the churro croissants then!!!!!!

This is the first time I’ve ever seen something other than cheese rolls from Porto’s.
