Sushi California – Best Bang for your $ in the city?
55$ before tip for the whole lot. Taste was Greta and fresh. Only complaint was the sashimi was cut poorly and too large to eat easily.

I like Sushi on Bloor. It’s the best bang for your buck, and always fresh.

Agreed! Very fresh, generous portions, and reasonable prices! The salmon pizza with that ball of surimi on top of it is great!

We honestly love this place! Feeds two for $20, their sushi tastes so much better to me than other more expensive places.

Ok elephant in the room here. What about that cake in the first pic?

On St. Claire? Yes, I think so. I’ve tried a lot of budget sushi places and the portions at Sushi California trump them all for the price. Sushi on Bloor is great too but from a pure value perspective SC tops it.

Our neighbourhood go-to spot. Such great value especially when feeding a family and not looking for anything fancy

I used to live within walking distance from this place. I forget but it was 10 or 15% off if you paid with cash. It was already a good deal before the discount.

I tried California sushi last week for the first time. Sadly it was some of the worst sushi I’ve had in a long while. While the portions are huge, the fish is poorly cut and everything is covered in sweet sauces and piles of tempura flakes. For value sushi Sushi on Bloor is a much better choice. Missing Shunoko right about now.

I love this place – it’s a five minute walk from both my work and home. Great quality and one of the combos is enough for a meal and a snack later. Definitely great value

It’s really low qualify. I don’t like the fish doesn’t taste fresh to me
