I got this Crock-Pot secondhand with these lines down the side, is it still safe to use?

I’m not a Crock-Pot Guru by any means. But I think it will be okay as long as none of the pieces are cracked or falling out. That may just be due to the age of the unit? I don’t know if it is, but that looks like just normal wear and tear.

If washed with soap, then proceed to use it.

I do not use pottery type products with crazing. A liner would provide a barrier, but I’m not into those either.

My first one was gifted to me from a Co-worker / neighbour who found it in the maintenance storeroom. It had exactly the same thing and looked about 30+ years old. I used it many times over the course of a year – about once a week for red meat but unfortunately it overheated and cracked right through around in a ring where the fracture lines stop.
