Yea, this is Korean food, but it’s one of my absolute favorite dishes. There’s a 24 hour spa in my state that I used to drive over to occasionally, and they have a little restaurant inside with a bunch of Korean street food items. I would get Tteokbokki everytime, despite it setting my mouth on fire. Totally worth it.

Uh.. yah this is Korean. Not famous in Vietnam at all, although kpop and k culture is trending in all over SEA. I have traveled Vietnam quite a bit and never seen or heard of tteokbbokgi being famous there.

I think this looks delicious, but when I bought it, it was so freaking chewy. I like the sauce it’s in, but I can’t bite through the tteokbokki, and when I do it takes a day and a half to eat.
I was disappointed but I was glad to try it.

$1.5 USD is quite expensive for road side food in Vietnam in my opinion. I grew up and lived in Saigon for 16 years, but living in the US for 10 years now. The living price must go up crazily now I suppose
