I lived in the east coast for a bit and I absolutely love the flavors from NYC’s [Xi’an Famous Foods](https://www.xianfoods.com/): the spice, the cumin, the hand-pulled noodles, etc

What is the closest parallel to that here in LA? I’ve dabbled in Chinese food both in SGV and in other areas but have never come across something similar to Xi’an’s. Reaching out to the experts in this sub 🙂

Got to go to the SGV, plenty of hand pulled noodle spots. Some good ones are LAN Noodle, Noodle Art, and Chong Qing Special Noodle to name a few.

I think I might be the only one who prefers the tomato egg hand pulled noodle over the lamb cumin 😂.

Shaanxi Garden, Chong Qing Special Noodles, Meet Qin Noodle, Changan, Noodle Art, 1919 Noodle Express, Xian, LAN, Wen Hui Noodle Hours, Northern Cafe, Liang Pi Cold Skin, BangBang noodles all do the biang biang noodle or some rendition of it. You’ll have to look up images to see which one comes closest. Best bet is to look up Shanxi or Xian resturants which is the region Famous Foods does.

  6. I just finished eating at Dun Huang in Rowland Heights for Mother’s Day and I gotta say, those are the best Lanzhou noodles I have ever had! I’ve been to countless Muslim noodle places in China and sadly none of those compare to this one. The taste was familiar yet clean, the flavor of the broth adheres very well to the noodles, but it wasn’t too salty. They also had some great tasting big plate chicken, roujiamo, lamb skewers and really nice roasted fish at a reasonable price. To top it off they had the best shrimp fried rice I’ve tasted in my life. I drove all the way from Downey and it was worth it!
