I love stinky Tofu! When we walked to the night market in Taipei, you could smell it 2 blocks away!

I’ve had this! Stinky tofu is said to originate from Changsha and you can find black stinky tofu there. It does taste different to me than other stinky tofu I’ve tried. Worth a try

    Wtf is stinky tofu

I don’t really like tofu, and I don’t like stinky things, but I still feel as if I’m missing out

I tried eating it fried like this from a stand near my hotel in Guangzhou – it was amazing! The smell wasn’t bad at all either, like a mild blue cheese. I came back so many times the vendor told me I should try some fresh from the jar. He recommended spread on steamed bread.

Well that was a huge mistake. As soon as I opened the jar my apartment reeked of rancid broccoli. It looked like wet concrete once it was spread, and was so salty it was hard to eat. I ended up double-bagging the jar and throwing it in a trash can two floors down just to get away from the stench.

    Fried though, delicious!

Ive never had black tofu, but Taiwan style stinky tofu is the food of the gods.

Ugh I miss stinky tofu so much 🙁 I used to eat it all the time in Nanning and Taipei. The black ones are delicious.
