I absolutely love this drink that I tried at a Mexican restaurant in So cal. It’s non-alcoholic and so refreshing. The ingredients consisted of limes, mineral water and salt + a lot of ice. I went here a while back with a friend and we can’t remember the name of the drink and it’s not on their menu. Unfortunately I live out of state now and would love to see if any local restaurants sell this drink because it is so good! I know it’s probably easy to recreate myself but I would nice to find a place that makes them like this one restaurant does! If anyone is familiar with the name of this drink please let me know !! Thank you

If the edge of the cup have salt it’s a Suerito/suero, it can also be done with sangría instead of soda.

That’s what we call a “Tehuacán preparado”. It’s different from a lemonade because this one has salt instead of sugar. It’s a very popular drink at least in the center of México but we don’t really have those in restaurants, it’s part of the Mexican street food catalog. If you ever come to CDMX, you’ll see little carts that sell raspados and those usually also have Tehuacán, Squirt, or Sangría preparados. By Tehuacán they mean any mineral water but a popular brand name is Tehuacán so we call it that. They take a big cup, throw in shaved ice, lime juice, salt, pour the mineral water and that’s it (chili powder is optional). Easy peasy and a true cure for thirst (and hangovers).
