Bomb Laotian food at the tiny Lokels Only food hall(?) In Chinatown. There’s also a soul food spot, burgers, and Japanese karaage here.

The chef started out selling food out of his house, so it’s dope to see him have a full on kitchen. Also cool to see Laotian cuisine anywhere.

From left to right
– Nem Khao: lettuce wraps with sour cured pork, crispy rice, and herbs. Super bright and tangy and delicious. You can request different spice levels.
– Pieng Gai Lao: grilled chicken with papaya salad (spicy!), and sticky rice. The sauce on the side is addictive.
– Khao Piak Gai: chicken noodle soup with crispies on top and blood.

Highly recommended.

Looks soooo yummy. Initially I thought I was looking at Thai food. Thank you for sharing, when I work up the nerve to drive to DTLA and jockey for parking, I’ll definitely will try everything you have in the picture as those as the foods that I enjoyed growing up.🩷
