I have a couple China jade cucumber plants grown from seed that I transplanted a week or so ago. Is it normal to have this development so early? Are these male or female? Should I prune them off?

After last year where I had 8 male flowers to 2 female I’d be stoked to see cukes already. Hah.

I’m growing china jade as well. Mine are a little bigger but haven’t started fruiting yet. It’s my understanding that plants that flower or fruit early do it because they are stressed and are hurrying to try and reproduce.

Those appear to be female and I would remove them so the plant can use it’s energy to grow up more.
