Ezekiel bread – one of the oldest described types of bread. It is mentioned in the Bible in the Book of Ezekiel, about 600 BC. This bread was eaten by Ezekiel during his two-year sojourn in the desert, when he was instructed by God to fast for 390 days. God told him to nourish himself during this time with bread consisting of the listed ingredients. Ezekiel was told to eat it because of the sins of his countrymen.
