My crock pot is all messed up and stained (scratched?). Is it okay to use or should I toss it?

Idk if it’s calcium or something because the water here is so hard. Or if it’s just old & scratched up. Is it still safe to use or should I not?
Edit: Thanks everyone. I had to use it right now or else my chicken was gonna go bad lol. I’ll try vinegar after this, if that doesn’t help then I’ll probably toss it. I mostly wanted to make sure it wasn’t something dangerous like peeling/chipping ceramic that’s gonna contaminate my food, but.. RIP me if so, I guess lol

Mine gets like that from hard water. Wipe it down with some diluted vinegar and see if it goes away.

Fill it with white vinegar and let it sit for a day, scrubbing every few hours. At some point the calcium will be gone or mostly gone. Whatever is left you can scrub with Barkeeper’s friend. That should get most or all of it, depending on what it is. Of ot is scratched through the porcelain to the ceramic inside, I would toss it. It’s likely to crack at some point.

Use a crock pot liner.

That looks fairly standard, especially the longer left between uses.
