Any ideas on this connection? Should I just remove it and replace it with other fittings?

Just like with air line fittings there are different makes of the same style fittings used with propane. Replace the fitting on the regulator with one that fits your current set up. FYI I don’t know of any large grill that used a QD fitting stock, Far to easy for them to leak so they all had the typical line fittings.

I ran into the same thing and bought this. I haven’t had to use it yet because the quick connect tank that came with the grill apparently has a spell cast on it so it’ll never go empty.

I inherited an old Weber grill from ~1990s. The propane tank had a quick connect/quick disconnect adapter, but through an error it got lost.
We are trying to get the grill up and running this summer.
I am moderately familiar with piping and fittings, but I cannot seem to figure this one out. I purchased [this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082FFQDCT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) in hopes that it would work, but it does not. The fitting is just too long to fit into the female and lock in place.

That entire hose and regulator assembly is a cheap replacement part and do eventually go bad.
I highly recommend replacing the whole thing and leave the whole quick disconnect thing to the past.
