We used to buy these chips at Central Market but sometime around the ice storm they stopped carrying them. I was distraught until we recently found them at Spec’s. Thought someone else might want to know.

The El milagro factory is actually on 7th Street – you can pick up fresh tortillas and trash bag sized bags of chips for much cheaper than most stores. 🙂

one of the best! Our HEB (Slaughter/Escarpment) carries them often.

I also like the Gloria’s that WF and CM carry.

    Pro tip:

La Michoacana on Riverside (and probably other locations) carries them, and on your way out has some of the best fresh salsa options in the city.

I too am distraught that my HEB and CM stopped carrying these. I’ve gotten them at Wheatsville too.

  5. Curious where y’all are from? I am from San Antonio and always called these tortilla chips, not corn chips.

Use to be a fan of them until they locked their workers out of the factory because they wanted better wages

I unknowingly worked on a computer at their downtown facility. They gave me a free bag, but it smelled of paint fumes inside randomly. Never had the issue again, love the perfect thickness of these chips.

  8. At Central Market the “Xochitl” brand, specifically the Sprouted ones and the “The Dipper” ones are very good. They aren’t as thick though.

I love these tortilla chips – my absolute favorite store bought and yes, most HEBs stopped carrying them over the last year for some unknown reason 🤷‍♂️ I thought my only option was to buy direct from their office downtown but that’s pretty far from where I live. Has anyone been able to find the ‘clear bag’ version of these chips for purchase? They are thinner than the brown bag version but same company.

Poco Loco on Airport Blvd carries these ( Totopos) the thin ones, and all the tortilla varieties.
They are located in the back of the store opposite the meat counter.

You can pick these up just about anywhere in Austin.

  12. Oh nice – yeah I love them too. Haven’t seen at CM/HEB in months!

These are definitely the best tortilla chips you can buy at HEB. Great recommendation!

The best are the ones in the clear bags. Paper thin. You can see through them.

I live next to the El Milagro factory in San Marcos and good god, whenever they are in the process of making chips, they open this grease trap that wafts across the apartment complex and it smells like 1000 rotting eggs stuffed inside the asshole of a dead, alcoholic homeless man. I want to vomit just walking to my car, I don’t know how people work in there. Tasty chips tho

I got some this weekend at the HEB at Slaughter and Congress, but it was the first time for a long time that I actually found them!

I miss being able to get the salt-free chips at HEB.
