I was really annoyed when I got this. The barista had to tell every customer it’s ok to pull hard when opening it.

Also the shitty paper straw wouldn’t even get to the bottom of the bag.

I asked and they said it was “plastic better for the environment and easier to store”.

For a $6.50 cold brew, give me a cup.

My fave coffee spot disappointing me

there is no way this is anywhere near the best for the planet way to drink coffee. I would be so embarrassed to schlep this fuckin coffee colostomy bag around town. Looks like they ordered cups but instead of cups a bunch of weed bags arrived and they just said fuck it. Juicebox.

Might be a purposeful deterrent/gentle push for customers to bring in reusable cups? They probably know how shitty this is…I certainly hope they do…they have to, right? :-

They really need to just let customers bring their own cups/tumblrs this has gotten ridiculous

  6. Pretty sure bagged iced coffee is served like that in Malaysia.

Besides the unconventional and harder to hold shape, is it really that different from the clear plastic cups we’re used to?

From a waste standpoint, even the paper coffee cups we throw out are plastic lined and non-biodegradable and non-recyclable.

Bagged drinks are pretty common in many parts of asia, but they’re generally very thin (like grocery bag thin), so overall they likely use significantly less plastic than American single-use coffee cups. But this bag is so thick, it seems just as bad as a plastic cup, and far less convenient.

WTF is this?? If they want to stop single use plastics they can just give you the iced coffee in a cardboard cup like Blue Bottle

i honestly can’t stand this coffee shop. they push those “creative” books and merch and it’s all objectively terrible lmao i’m all for branding and self expression but something about that chain really gives off corny vibes idk

Just someone else’s normal. If you were taking your drink on the handle bars of your motorbike, you would appreciate this.

Lol! I just experienced this yesterday at 787 too. It’s a shame cause it’s my favorite spot down there. The straw doesn’t reach and the Ziploc won’t actually stay closed with the straw in there. This will legit be a reason I don’t go back.

in my country they usually serve coffee at kopitiams (coffee shops) like this in bags but these coffees also cost like 1 usd and are made from robusta beans

Lmao this happened to my friend yesterday 🤣

This kind of post might make sense in like a little midwestern town with a single coffee shop. You’re in fucking nyc dude. There was 10 coffee shops within 100 yards. You literally were a metric for how popular the bagged coffee is lol

  15. President_Camacho

Does it have a flat bottom? Can you put it down when you get to your desk?

Isn’t this just like the bags that nutcrackers come in sometimes? Not saying I love it but that seems to be the idea they’re going for.
