  1. I guess this is the sign I needed to finally start testing my soil… 😅
I bought an Edge Right competitor's steel edging in 15" height (to use in an in-ground raised bed situation), but my soil is SAND so it was nearly impossible to hammer in!! Maybe I need the 10 lb. sledge. 😂

  2. Great video. We have several raised beds and raised self watering container beds. We use woodchips on cardboard on our pathways in between beds. We also have had success covering our beds in the late fall with cardboard and mulch to over winter. Our beds stay weed free for spring planting. We're using metal edging around our blackberries and raspberries this season as well. Thanks again for the great content.

  3. I also recommend Down To Earth products. Their fertilizer blends are great and very "Whole". The 3-3-3 Starter Mix is great to mix into Seedling Mix soil for seed starting and young seedlings. The All Purpose 4-6-2 blend is my favorite for containers, mixing into beds each Spring and Early to Mid-season top-dress fertilizing. Then for certain vegetables I will switch to DTE's Bio-Fish 7-7-2 blend around Mid-Late season and top dress with that for heavier Root/Fruit production. I've seen really great results from Onions, Garlic and Potatos using that method! (Don't forget the Bone Meal).

Their single ingredient products are also great quality and reasonably priced. Greensand, Azomite, Rock Phosphate, Blood Meal and Kelp Meal are some of my most used of those. They're great when you can find them in the 1 LB boxes too, if you just need a little of something. I use their single ingredients when blending Soil for Soil Blocks in Spring.

Also a bonus that they're a local, Oregon based, company.
