Pretty happy with my first taste of Valle de Guadalupe wines. 81% Chardonnay and 19% Viognier feels just about right. Butter and vanilla are present, but also Meyer lemon curd, stewed apples and pears, creamed honey, mangoes, bananas, toffee, marzipan, and raisins.
The pairing with shrimp scampi was absolutely incredible. I’m also planning to drink this with Icelandic creamed fish and potatoes, and will see what other dishes go with it. I’m thinking mostly seafood, but maybe poultry also.

I rated 88 points, close to 89. $12.98 at my local H‑E‑B which I found a decent enough value. Especially for a Mexican wine in a major supermarket.
