My favorite is Win-Dow. But of the list participating…
– George’s Burger Stand, Especially their Chili or Pastrami Burger.
– Eureka, $20 Burger and Old Fashioned is a deal!! They are my favorite of the restaurant burger chains.
– Openfaced – Surprised to see them take part… no doubt their burgers will be awesome. Also don’t pass up on that Danish Hot Dog. Only Place that makes them and it’s my favorite dog in L.A.

LA Taco has a list of the best “hood” burgers. As they said, hood burgers hit different.
I’m a simple man, an in-n-burger every now and then is enough to hit the burger cravings.

I would go to Proudly Serving and skip the gimmick Burger Week thing in favor of one PS burger and one Founder.

Just try Yellowpaper Burger

M Café is a veggie burger or crispy fish sandwich (burger) – excellent choices for non beef. List is weird. My rotation is usually: Golden State on Fairfax, Easy Street, HiHo, For the Win, Wally’s, Stout Burger, Burger She Wrote, Oui Melrose, Fathers Office, Banh Oui.

If you don’t sneak in In and Out in that week you’re not really celebrating.

Not Listed: Heavy Handed and Burgers Never Say Die

Haven’t tried any of that list. I had Shake Shack the other day. It was $17 for a burger (single) fries and a coke. Burger was decent, but small. I was still hungry afterwards. I don’t get the hype of this place.

I have said this here before and I’ll say it again… If the burger is cooked on the plancha with a bunch of taco meat it’s going to be good regardless of all other factors. El Atacor uses shit Costco patties(I assume) and that burger is fantastic and I can’t even explain it. Salsa that shit and pass on the ketchup.
I also like the burger and fries at via mar across from food for less in HLP. They’ve got that CULICHI sauce that is so good on the burger, wash it down with tamarindo! I want to go there now…

George’s Burger Stand in Boyle Heights.
If you grew up as a typical So Cal/LA kid than you have a soft spot for these hood burger places. George’s is basically a tribute to these places. The ingredients are better and it costs a little more than the hood spots. It’s great imo. The only thing missing at George’s is Orange BANG and teriyaki. There is no family pack special. They do got pastrami, burritos, and breakfast.
Get a cheeseburger. It’s typical So Cal style with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and thousand island.
Get the chili cheese fries. Look I love Tam’s and grew up on that shit but I think George’s has the best chilli cheese fries. I know the Hat has them but eating that feels like I need to go to the cath lab at County or Cedars.
To drink get a horchata since they dont have Orange BANG. Or bring your own BANG but still get the horchata.

There you fuking go if you want to celebrate “Burger Week” in LA this is the most LA thing to do.
The Munch Box, Chatsworth. Double Mush w/ Cheese. You thought you knew…
That list is years-old, the only place on it I’ve been (Severance) closed a while ago
Edit: as others have pointed out, several places on there have closed
