My current machine is leaking, perpetually but not extensively. What is my best option for a long term replacement.

That looks like an older CitiZ. I’m pretty new to Nespresso, but my new CitiZ is nice.

FWIW I’ve had the Pixie since November 2020 and it still works as well as it did brand new. Use it 3-4 times a day.

Have you ever descaled your machine? I had this happen to a Keurig I neglected. Had to throw it out.

I have an Essenza Automatic that’s been flawless for about 14 years so far.

Citiz had ours for many years never failed us.

  6. From my experience with pod machines, Pixie/Inissia have the least moving parts and thus are likely to work forever. I’d avoid U, Expert, KitchenAid Artisan (all based on the same chassis with lots of parts prone to breaking).

  7. If you can find a Kitchenaid Originaline, it’s pretty much a tank. I think I’ve had mine for seven years now. I descale when the Vertuo next to it wants to be descaled, always use filtered water, and it’s a machine. Like Bert Kreischer level. Without the vodka.

Thank you very much people I shall investigate all these.

Citiz (the one you have), essenza and Inissia/Pixie are all great machines. I don’t know why this has happened to yours. It could have been faulty or aged.

These machines require love and maintenance. You should treat it like a pet. It should be cleaned once a week on average – including the pyramid plate and water tank, descaled yearly at minimum (soft water), and should only be given aluminium pods to snack on. It’ll never break that way.

I bought my inissia in 2015 and it still running fine.

I’ve had my pixie forever, use it several times a day and it’s still 💯

  12. I don’t know that there even is such a thing as an unreliable OL machine.
