Last year I became disabled due to an aneurysm.
I never hardly cleaned my house.

With 2 kids, someone had to the cleaning.

We found a very nice girl, she comes by twice a week. She is golden!

Before I got ill, I used MFP, lost 20 kg, it was amazing! Now she has helped me to make list in the kitchen.

I make a recipe, weigh the total, substract the weight of the pan. Then I weigh my plate. Lost 6 kilo this way. My husband would never have the patience to do this for me .

That’s a really good hack to weight it without dirtying more dishes.

Yes! I have an ever-growing phone note full of tare weights as well. A lot of my most commonly used ones have been committed to memory at this point. Using a food scale is one of the keys to making this time “different” from my other weight loss attempts. Best of luck on your journey!

Congratulations for the weight loss! I’ve never thought about weighing from the pan or skillet, since I always use my kitchen scale for portions (I use the “tare” feature to account for container weight). A food scale is instrumental in weight loss if you are tracking calories. I went from 250 to 165 during the pandemic (5’11”/m) and don’t think I could have done it if I wasn’t careful about food weight. It’s help me maintain my weight as well.
