I went to Laylas today to see what all the hooplah is about. When you get through the line, the staff is really kind and they have a good system.

There is really no seating available, and most people “camp out” at tables before having food so they can snag it.

The bagels are pricey. The two shown above ranged around $15-$18. The bagel I purchased with the sprouts had no mention of having sprouts on the menu and said it came with “avocado, chili flakes and pickled onion.”

The best bagel, imo, was the plain with cream cheese ($8….🙃) The quality of the bagel is great, and the cream cheese has a good taste to it. It’s just not worth the price point.

IMO: Save your money and go to NYBD.

There is a special place in hell for fuckers that steal tables before ordering. Fuck you all.

As a west sider who didn’t have to wait for anything and got a seat instantly, it was a better experience. This was on a weekday. Def beats Gjusta for loaded bagel. Courage is better but not worth the effort coming from Santa Monica.

I had a bagel here not too long ago and it was good bread but not a bagel.

So another place using the tired old “manufacture a line” tactic. I’m so sick of these places.

In what city is an $8 toasted bagel with schmear “ok”? Also, that bagel looks burnt.

    Looks like
Basic expensive LA food. Great review 🤟🏼

  10. Oh I like that place! I had the tomato bagel and it was pretty nice and filling. I want to try the seasonal fruits one sometime. Have you tried the bagels next door-Jyan Isaac? Pretty good too
