Notes: bright ruby color, though a bit cloudy in the way low-intervention reds can be; nose of strawberry and pepper; palate is bone dry, with high acidity, and medium tannin, body and alcohol (listed at 13.5% ABV) — this is a structured, powerful Beaujolais; tastes match the nose — red fruit with a hint of spice and maybe some herbal notes; finish is long and linear; very good QPR for a “Gang of Four” Morgon at $35 USD retail; solid 4.2 out of 5
phonylady
One of the most popular wines here for sure. Personally I prefer Foillard’s Morgon. Many will disagree, but for me I always get an artificial/synthetic candy association with this wine (and many others in the region) that I find rather unappealing.
