**Ingredients**
* 2 lbs ground turkey * 28 oz can of diced tomatoes * 28 oz can of tomato sauce * Medium to large onion (used sweet white), finely chopped * Bell pepper, chopped * 3 small, 2 med or 1 large carrot, chopped towards the smaller side * 2 garlic cloves, minced * 2 habanero peppers with seeds (optional) * 3 TBS chili powder * 2 TSP cumin powder * 1 TSP black pepper * 1 TSP salt * 2 15 oz cans of kidney beans (I used one light red and one dark red for contrast)
**Instructions**
* Brown your ground turkey. Note, I find this takes longer with the turkey because I end up using a wooden spoon to try to break up the meat since it’s more stringy than regular ground beef * While you are browning your meat – add all of the other ingredients to the crockpot to and stir thoroughly. Note, useful tricks to make life easier are: * Cut all of your veggies up ahead of time before you start anything * Add tomato products first and then all the spices and thoroughly mix. Then add the cut up veggies and mix again. Add the meat last and do a final mix before you start cooking * Cook on low for 8 to 9 hours * Remove lid, turn slow cooker to high and add 2 drained cans of kidney beans * Mix, cover and cook on high for 15 – 20 min
