Aleidas has my favorite Arepa I’ve had near Austin,Tx. This is a classic mom and pop and i can’t exaggerate how sweet and friendly the owners are. We went in a group of 10 people. Many whom had never tried Venezuelan food before. The worker/maybe owner brought us out free chips and queso (delicious) and gave us a free appetizer of plantains. The food was delicious! it was my second time going and I love the Cachapa with pulled pork, tequenos, and the Arepa Pabellon. My friends were all blown away by the food and the friendly service. I think they should have a line out the door with how good the food is. The arepas were huge too.

Really dig this spot. Portion sizes are monstrous. Food is slightly too rich for me so gotta be in the right mood for it.

As a Venezuelan person I’m intrigued by this place and want to give it a try. But also want to point out, no genuine Venezuelan arepa looks like that. This looks like an oversized Americanized arepa. I can’t imagine that arepa being picked up and would assume it was eaten with a knife and fork. Traditional arepas are semi stuffed like a sandwich and eaten with your hands. Nothing is supposed to spill out.

Regardless, I’m glad my country’s food (or a version of it) is being enjoyed outside its borders.

This place is a bit hidden, but it really is excellent food. Best Venezuelan Ive had, introduced to me by a Venezuelan
