Apparently, pickled carrots and spicy mayo turn Genoa salami and pepperoni into a Bahn Mi. Van Nuys.

Bahn mi? More like ban me from being sold. This should be illegal.

Reminds me of calling quesadilla “Mexican pizza”. Yes they’re both cheesy and round at first, then triangles, but that’s where the similarities end.

For some reason… I need this! I’d ditch the carrots though…

Erewhon does the same but with salmon instead of pepperoni

Htf is 7-11 selling a banh mi more than an actual banh mi from carrots and daikon?!?

  5. If you’re in Van Nuys and want actual Banh Mi sandwiches or any other legit sandwiches for that matter, gotta go to Lee’s.

I mean, it’s 7-11. What did you expect? A Michelin star?

This is awesome, multicultural and fusion. Isn’t it amazing as a society that you can sell something so associated with a non western culture without any explanation in a crappy convenience store? I’m actually really impressed

  8. But people go to Panda express for Chinese?

Anyways if they dont over price bahn mi, this wouldnt happen.

If you’re ever in Santa Barbara, go to Blue Owl and try their banh mis 😋

  10. I’d actually be down for a well-executed (so many not 7-11) version of this mashup, adding in some of the Vietnamese meats too!

The usual whitesplanation of Asian cuisine. I can’t wait for more videos to be made on how white folks proclaim how to “best” make Asian dishes whilst creating disgusting hot messes and arrogantly flouting any criticism from actual Asian people.

An Italian Vietnamese sandwich at 7/11!? Sign me tf up!

Accessible fusion at its best. As an Asian, I hate how people say Asian food has to be “authentic”. This is why America (especially big cities like LA and NYC) is the best – an amalgamation of the world’s cultures.
