In this video I will go over my top 7 picks for vegetables you can grow from seed right now in the heat of summer. In most climates there is still plenty of time for these 7 crops. Planting vegetables in the summer is possible if you know your frost dates and plan accordingly.

I want to see a video about how El Niño will affect fall planing
Dude I just pause your video @ 1:16 "frost date" really come on, you live in California. I am here in the Austin, Texas area the average temperature for weeks has been 100 degrees or may be slightly under or above plus or minus 4 degrees it doesn't start even cooling down until October if I am lucky. What frost date do I need to consider, late December like another poster said? Please explain to me that temp that is this hot is great for tomatoes? Squash heck no…notice the nice words, for the last several season I been at war with vine borers…I lost!!!! I surrender, planting squash is not going to happen. Beans!!! I have beans now they have stalled out due to the heat, if I am lucky and they survive I will get more in September or October due to the heat now. That is almost 90 days! Basil ok you score one there. I plant every season now and let it grow however it wants. If it wants to go to seed that is fine, I have other plants that don't. Cucumber….hot weather really, my plants are going to seed right now, because it is to dang hot. I am about to plow it up and plant pumpkins in it place. Okra….don't have a clue. Sweet corn, heck I had a nice crop until the heat hit and the dang critters got greedy and the food I been feeding them was not enough. As I said I may disagree with you, but I keep watching your video's. I didn't say any nasty words in my whole comment you dang Californian!!!!!!!!!!

"bush beans are small"
Me with a dragons tongue bean out competing an average size pepper plant.
I've never eaten okra. What does it taste similar to?
I like this new style of video. Well done.
We don't get frost here in malta 😁 ever……not always a good thing though. A good frost kills bugs etc? Useful to hear your thoughts though. Okra? No, no and thrice no! 🤣🤣
I LOVE okra
Thanks 😊
I must disagree with the claim that beans like it moist, but you live in a dry climate. Beans hate wet soil in the midwest, the seeds rot or come up very sickly in cold wet soil, or wet hot humid soil. Mulch would be terrible. I plant way too many than hope a few do well.
I'd never heard of Okra until I started watching your channel and I don't think we have it in our market. What does it taste like?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
YES!!! thank you!!! great video and NO to okra ahhahah
I've never had okra.
i sowed ghurkins which i mistook for snack cucumbers, can i use them for anything else but putting them in jars ?
Im borna and raised so cal (9b/10) recently moved to central arkansas (7b/8) and Im growing okra for the first time.. . 3 different varieties. Should be interesting!
Love okra! We eat it like popcorn in the evenings
Thanks for the reminder to do my cucumber succession planting. Corn is going in next week. Can’t really do it sooner here until summer rains start. But we don’t get frost until December here 🙌
OH YES, Love, love love orka. And Thanks for info
I love okra! This is my first year planting it, though. I live in WA state and it's not very popular here in the NW. My grandmother was from OK and she always made it. I like it fried the best, but I do not use batter or breading. I like it best with just salt, pepper and fresh garlic. Key is to cook for a long time until it becomes blackened and crispy (not burned, just very dark). This evaporates the "slime". I can't wait to harvest!
